Q. I am double ck my answers since hamanor10 thinks I am getting u to do my homework. My answer is 4x^2-3x-85=0, (4x+17)(x-5), which means width = 5 sq yds and length 4*5-3= 17 sq yds. Is this correct?

A. From what i can tell you have a rectangle with a width of X and a length of X+4. You know if you divided the rectangle in half the divider would be 8 yards long. Knowing that you want to find out what X is. Here's how it is done. Cutting the rectangle in half gives a triangle with sides A, B and C, where A=8, B=X and C=X+4. Using Pythagoras you know that A^2=B^2+C^2 Therefore 8^2=X^2+(X+4)^2 Therefore 64=X^2+X^2+8*X+16 Therefore 48=2*X^2+8*X Therefore 24=X^2+4*X Therefore X^2+4*X-24=0 Next you factorize, but I'll leave that to you, hopefully this will start you off.

A. Pea gravel is usually about 3/8" in diameter. You should put it on about 2" deep. On average, it is about 90 sq ft of pea gravel per ton. The would mean that you would need 6.666 tons (rounded to 6.7 tons). 1.2 tons is a cubic yard, so that would be about 5.5 cubic yards. Just to be on the safe side, I would ask the company that you are getting it from about the diameter of the gravel, as it may alter your calculations.

A. 25 acres is equal to 25 x 4840 x 9 sq.ft = 1089000 sq.ft Dividing that by 1320 gives the other side = 825 ft. Perimeter is 130 + 825 and then multiplied by 2 = 4290 ft. I am not sure what exactly the remaining part of your question refers to. I hope the above procedure is clear.

Why does a Heisman candidate have to play for one of the top 5 teams in college football?
Q. The Heisman trophy is supposed to go to the best PLAYER! (In theory !!!) Not the best player on the #1 team! I am a die hard SEC fan and I am still all for CJ Spiller from Clemson winning. He is clearly the best player (19 carries 230 yds 4 TDS in ACC championship) yet gets less consideration because he plays for a lower ranked squad even though he put them in the ACC championship.
